Letterman Digital Arts Center lawn
Letterman Digital Arts Center lawn in Presidio. Public green space with creek and lagoon. Quiet spot near Palace of Fine Arts.
Letterman Digital Arts Center is where Lucasfilm works. It’s in the Presidio and the grounds are open to the public. You can walk right up.
The main attraction is the Yoda fountain. It’s in the lobby courtyard—you can see it through the windows even when the building is closed. Actual bronze Yoda statue with water flowing around it. Pretty great.

The lawn has a creek running through it and a small lagoon. Trees everywhere, clean grass. It’s quiet because most people don’t know they can go here.
This is where they make Star Wars stuff. The building has digital production studios inside. You can’t tour it but knowing what happens in there makes the visit better.

[!TIP] The grounds are open to the public. See the Yoda fountain through the lobby windows. Bring lunch and eat on the lawn.
Enter through Chestnut Gate off Lyon Street. Underground parking if you drive. Palace of Fine Arts is right next door—you can hit both in one trip.
Bring lunch. Eat on the lawn.
