Microsoft Unveils New AI Co-Innovation Lab in San Francisco

Microsoft opened an AI Co-Innovation Lab at 555 California Street. The lab gives startups access to Azure infrastructure and Microsoft’s AI tools for building and testing products.

This is Microsoft’s second AI lab in the US after one in Redmond. Anthropic and OpenAI are already expanding in SF, so this is Microsoft planting its flag in the same neighborhood.

This move comes after Microsoft’s $10 billion investment in OpenAI earlier this year. A new product offering called Microsoft 365 Copilot, integrating OpenAI’s technology, is expected to launch this November.
