Jollibee opening in Downtown San Francisco

Jollibee opens in downtown SF. Filipino fast food chain finally arrives. Chickenjoy, peach mango pie, and Jolly Spaghetti near Union Square.

Jollibee is finally opening on Market Street. The Filipino fast food chain has been building out a massive space at 934 Market since 2020.

If you don’t know Jollibee, it’s what Filipinos grew up with. Chickenjoy is the main thing—crispy fried chicken that’s actually good. The peach mango pie is better than McDonald’s apple pie. Jolly Spaghetti is sweet sauce with hot dog slices, which sounds weird but works.

The Daly City location has been around since 1998. That’s where everyone from the city goes because Daly City has a huge Filipino community. SF had one on 4th Street that closed in 2011.

This new spot is right by Powell Street BART, near the Muni exit on Market. 7,400 square feet in what used to be a Payless. Permits are filed, they’re hiring, should open soon.

Market Street needs this. The area is rough but Jollibee will pull crowds.
