Chase Center put up a Christmas tree at Thrive City. It’s actually bigger than the Union Square tree.
Thrive City is the plaza around the Warriors arena in Mission Bay. They built it with restaurants, a few shops, and outdoor seating. It’s where people hang out before games.
The tree is free to see. You can walk right up. The whole plaza is open even when there’s no game happening.
Mission Bay is kind of a dead zone for foot traffic normally. But the Chase Center area gets busy on Warriors nights. The waterfront is a short walk from here, and on a clear day the sky over Mission Bay puts on its own show.
Union Square’s tree is more classic SF. This one feels corporate but it’s big and lit up. Worth seeing if you’re already in the area.
