Multiplying Succulents
Turns out you can grow a whole new succulent from a single leaf — we've been propagating a tray of them at home.
We’ve been propagating succulents after learning how little it actually takes. Pull a leaf off cleanly at the base, let it callus over for a day or two, and set it on top of soil. No planting required at first — the leaf just sits there.

Roots show up within a week or two if the leaf took. Tiny new rosettes grow out from the base while the original leaf slowly shrivels, feeding the new plant until it can support itself. Not every leaf works — some just dry out and never root — so we started with a full tray to improve the odds.

We’re also trying to transplant one of the bulbs to a bigger pot to see if it fills out faster with more room. Succulents don’t need much water while they’re rooting, which makes this one of the lower-maintenance ways to multiply a plant collection without buying more.
