Ferry Building Farmers Market: Saturday Crowd Notes
Saturday at the Ferry Building means farmers market crowds, produce stalls, Dandelion Chocolate, and a busy waterfront scene.
Saturday at the Ferry Building. The farmers market was packed. Produce vendors, artisan food, and people shoulder-to-shoulder.

The mushroom guy has a line. He brings oyster mushrooms, shiitakes, varieties I don’t even know. The bread stands sell out fast. Acme and Della Fattoria both have people waiting. You want a sourdough, you get there before 10.

Inside, Hog Island Oysters has a raw bar. You sit at the counter, they shuck them in front of you. Cowgirl Creamery sells cheese samples—you can taste before buying. Blue Bottle does pour-over coffee but the line isn’t worth it. Get coffee somewhere else.
Dandelion Chocolate opened a spot in the Ferry Building. They show the bean-to-bar process with signs in multiple languages. You can watch them sort cacao beans through the window.

The waterfront walk goes along the Embarcadero. You can walk to Pier 39 if you want. Or head south toward the ballpark. York Street Cafe was a pop-up nearby at Embarcadero Center. Views of the Bay Bridge the whole way.
For more Dandelion Chocolate, their Valencia Street factory has the full production—you watch the machines work through the windows.
[!TIP] Arrive by 9 AM on Saturdays. Sourdough and bread stalls sell out fast, and the mushroom vendor always has a line.
The Saturday market runs year-round. Get there by 9 if you want space to move. For Ghirardelli Square chocolate history, head to Fisherman’s Wharf.
