Game Developers Conference returns in San Francisco
GDC returned to Moscone Center in March 2022, bringing the first large convention crowd downtown in two years.
The photo came from GDC’s Flickr account. Seeing that crowd back at Moscone Center was encouraging after two quiet years downtown. Visitors booked more than 12,000 hotel rooms.
I haven’t been to an in-person conference for more than 4 years.
Organizers expected attendance to reach 50% to 60% of the 29,000-person pre-pandemic peak. The Chronicle covered the convention’s return.
