Fall colors at the Presidio

The Presidio in late November. Fall foliage, a rocky creek, and the Letterman grounds open to the public.

The Presidio turns out to be one of the better places in SF to see fall foliage. The Letterman Digital Arts Center grounds had red and orange leaves in mid-November.

The deciduous trees around the Letterman area drop leaves all at once in late fall. The contrast between the orange and the red brick building is strong on a clear afternoon.

The walking paths wind through the grounds past a mix of evergreen and deciduous trees. Most of the Presidio stays green year-round, but these pockets of color are worth finding.

A rocky creek runs through the Letterman grounds toward the lagoon. It was moving well after the first rains of the season.

The grounds are open to the public. More about the Letterman Digital Arts Center lawn, including the Yoda fountain.
