Colorful mural on warehouse building in Mission District

Street art on Florida Street. This was the Here Collective warehouse—they hosted events and art shows.

The Mission has murals everywhere. Balmy Alley is the famous one—an entire alleyway covered in political and cultural art. Clarion Alley near Valencia is another good spot.

The murals change over time. Artists paint over old work, add new pieces. That’s part of it.

For more Mission culture, check out Día de Muertos in October/November or Cesar Chavez Day in March. Both bring out the neighborhood’s artistic side.
