Clinton Kane Held at Gunpoint in the Marina

TikTok singer Clinton Kane and his crew were robbed of $30,000 in gear after parking for lunch in the Marina — a daylight reminder not to leave valuables in the car.

Clinton Kane, a singer-songwriter and TikTok star, was in town to shoot a music video for his new album. He and his crew were held up at gunpoint and robbed of their gear.

He and two friends had just arrived Friday afternoon. After parking in the Marina for lunch, Kane says he noticed men breaking into his car and stealing about $30,000 in equipment (ABC7).

Kane joked he was never coming back to San Francisco after this. He will be back on tour in December and says he plans not to bring anything expensive. The practical takeaway is the same one locals already know: don’t keep valuables in the car.

[!WARNING] Never leave valuables visible in your car in SF. Car break-ins happen in every neighborhood, including the Marina in broad daylight.

I’m still surprised this happened in the Marina in daylight. It’s one of the safer neighborhoods on paper, and that doesn’t stop smash-and-grabs when gear is sitting in plain view. Stay guarded, and leave the expensive kit at the hotel.
